ABWA WNY November Professional Development Meeting

Please join us on Wednesday, November 15th as we provide an evening of education and networking with keynote speaker, Melinda Yoder, presenting “Nutrition for the Busy, Working Woman!”

Melinda YoderMelinda Yoder is a Registered Dietitian and Owner of Balanced Nutrition of WNY, PLLC. She specializes in weight and chronic disease management, sports nutrition, and eating disorders. Her services include developing tailored plans for patients at her office and at several primary care offices in Western New York. She enjoys working regularly with individual athletes and presenting to athletic departments, teams and clubs. Melinda is also the Sport Dietitian to the Canisius College Athletic department. Additional services provided by Melinda are Workplace Wellness consults and presentations. Melinda guides and encourages her clients to enjoy a variety of foods, lose and manage weight, optimize athletic performance, and increase energy. In addition to her roles at Balanced Nutrition of WNY, Melinda teaches Exercise and Fitness Nutrition as an adjunct instructor at the State University of New York, Buffalo State. Melinda earned a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics at the State University of New York, Buffalo State in 2010 and a Bachelor of Science in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2000. She is active in the Western New York Dietetic Association and is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), New York State Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (NYSAND), as well as the Sports, Cardiovascular, & Wellness Nutrition, Nutrition Entrepreneur, and Diabetes Care & Education Practice Groups of AND. Melinda will serve as Reimbursement Chair with NYSAND from 2017-2020. When not busy working, Melinda enjoys training for full or half marathons, hiking with her husband, spending time cooking or baking in the kitchen, and traveling. She welcomed her first child, Isaac, in December 2016 and is loving every minute of being a new mom.

Melinda will be presenting "Nutrition for the Busy, Working Woman!", which will include:

  • Nutritious foods to include in a hectic work and school week
  • Quick fix meal preparation tips and ideas
  • Snack ideas for the work and school day to help maintain energy and health
  • How to time and manage meals and snacks on busy days

Recipes and tip sheets will be provided. This is a meeting to not miss!
