New York State Women, Inc. was one of the sponsors for the National Association of Commissions for Women annual conference which was held in Buffalo, NY. The NACW conference took place over five days, from July 12th to 16th, and included workshops, moderated panels on a range of issues impacting women, keynote speakers, and networking with women from across New York State and the U.S.

While 51% of the U.S. population is female, women make up only 18% of the U.S. Congress. So, the question becomes: How can we get qualified women to say “YES, I want to run for office.”? Diana Cihak, founder of WE PAC, will discuss coaching on the unique skills required of candidates for elected office. Her political action committee focuses on fundraising, public speaking, image development, press/media relations, and leadership development.
